Achala Moulik is a former Indian bureaucrat and an author who has written 30+ books to date. Her writing is unambiguous and can bind the readers to the book.

She has written quite a few books on issues related to India and Russia. Her fascination for Russia began when she was gifted Rabindranath Tagore's famous "Letters from Russia". So, it would not be an exaggeration to say that her books form a bridge between the two countries.

The Dangerous Dispatches is a book depicting the lives of journalists covering the ongoing wars. Also, it portrays the college lives of young students enthusiastic about political issues within and outside the country.

Pushkin’s Last Poem, a play based on Alexander Pushkin, the founder of modern Russian literature, is a masterpiece by Achala. The book characterizes the life of the poet and how he fell in love with a juvenile girl, who got enchanted with his poetry and wanted to follow him everywhere, which he rejected without hesitancy and many of his other bad decisions in life which eventually lead to his death. For this book, she received the prestigious Pushkin Medal from the Russian President.

She is a proficient writer whose books are not only a good source of knowledge moreover exquisite.

The Russian Revolution and Storms Across a Century 1917-2017 is a book in which she narrates episodes ranging from the October revolution to the cold war between the Soviet Union and The United States.

The Treaty of Versailles and the remaking of the world 1919-2019 describes the causes of the first world war and the subjugation of Asia and Africa.

Rabindranath Tagore A Man of All Times portrays the life of Rabindranath Tagore and his impact on society.

Rogues Among The Ruins reflects the lives of civil servants, their struggles to be successful.

Her recent non-fiction release Treaty Of Peace, Friendship & Cooperation Of 1971 describes the bond between India and Russia. It also shows her concern about the uncertainties in the relationship between the two countries in the coming years. In the book, she beautifully lists the similarities in the names, cultures, literature, etc between the two nations. She also writes how Russia has always helped India in crisis and acted as a shield to protect its sovereignty and freedom when needed.

Being a civil servant she has great writing skills in the political genre. Even the readers not largely interested in politics will be attracted to her authenticity.
